Possibly the biggest destination wedding to take place post pandemic, held between November 18th and 21st 2021, a Delhi based billionaire indulged his 700+ guests by flying them down in chartered jets for the celebrations at the classic venues of Petit Palais, Opera Garnier, Accor Arena Bercy and Château de Chantilly.

All the guests stayed at the Four Seasons George V and Prince de Galles- Marriott, even as a team of over 600 from India and France worked behind the scenes to seamlessly orchestrate the mega wedding show.

Here’s what we know about the iconic wedding venues, some of which were rented by the families with special permission.

Petit Palais is a marvelous blend of traditional and modern architecture. Located between Champs-Elysées and Les Invalides, it has a magnificent courtyard and outdoor gardens. The hallways and grand porch of the Palace are aesthetically decorated. Their gardens are considered one of the most refined venues for evening receptions in Paris.

The Château de Chantilly
Considered to be one of the finest jewels in the crown of France’s cultural heritage, The Château de Chantilly was built in the 14th century on a small rocky island surrounded by an artificial lake. It is nonetheless, one of the most awe-inspiring places in the world that houses one of the largest art collections in France, second only to Louvre.

Nestled amongst 115 hectares of carefully sculpted landscapes and manicured gardens, this marvelous venue played host to world renowned band Pink Floyd during their ‘The Division Bell’ tour in 1994. It also hosted some esteemed weddings, that of Brazilian football star Ronaldo and also that of both children of His Highness the Prince Aga Khan. Ronaldo’s wedding reportedly cost £700,000.

The families from Delhi did an exclusive buy-out of two of the most luxurious hotels in Paris- the 244 room Four Seasons Hotel George V located in one of the most fashionable parts of the city, and Prince De Galles (a Marriott hotel)- a mosaic of discreet elegance in Paris near the Champs-Élysées.

While the core wedding management team hired by the family flew down from Delhi (some of them were roped in over 18 months ago and made several trips ahead of the big day) a legion of vendors were hired locally for the elaborate technical & decor production and splendid floral set-ups. The A-list wedding maker from Delhi included the Planner/ Entertainment designer Nitin Arora of Katalyst Entertainment, Decor designer Geeta Samuel, Virender Handa of Creative Cuisines Inc who curated the most amazing Indian meals, and Photographers Badal and Raja Jain.
