Many parents wonder if their child is growing at a right pace. They follow milestone guidelines. But I should say every child is different. Will give my example as when my daughter was 1.5 year old, me and my husband always wondered whether her head size is large as compared to other same age kids.We actually went to her pediatrician for the consultation and got all the measurements done there.Hahaha!!! It was little awkward but we had to clear our doubt so nothing more than that. But then I really thank God that all was fine. So that day we learned that milestones are only guidelines not strict rules to be followed for children. So few children are exceptionally good at achieving certain milestones of different age groups as I said for my daughter and few are bit slow. It is the foremost responsibility of parents that they should keep an eye out for these milestones. Major milestones for a kid to be accomplished are development, social and emotional health, language and academics. If parents have any specific questions regarding their child, they should definitely consult their family doctor or child's pediatrician. Not only a child should get balanced nutrition but adequate sleep and exercise also. It is good for children to get regular health checkups done with their health care provider. Talking about their social and emotional behaviour, there can be so many changes in them. Parents should set the time limits for their screen time. Lying, cheating and hiding the facts in the growing age can be a part of childhood but parents should openly talk to them so as to avoid those traits becoming a part of their behaviour and personality in future. They are exposed to unique risk in cyber space. Parents should establish the basic understanding to increase the awareness of their children on staying safe being online. Talk with your children about the online risks of interacting with strangers through computer or laptop and sending personal data to them. Parents should continuously monitor the online activities of their children. So, this is the just the piece of information to help both parents and children stay safe and healthy while growing up in digital age. The first wealth is Health! Do check my previous blogs: How to raise happy and confident kids https://hiteshipatel.blogspot.com/2020/09/kidsworld.html How to inculcate reading habits in your children https://hiteshipatel.blogspot.com/2020/11/how-to-inculcate-reading-habits-in-your.html Travel with kids during Covid-19 https://hiteshipatel.blogspot.com/2020/10/travel-with-kids-during-covid-19.html Parenting and Importance of Education https://hiteshipatel.blogspot.com/2020/10/parenting-and-importance-of-education.html How to explain importance of Nutrition to kids https://hiteshipatel.blogspot.com/2020/09/importance-of-nutrition-in-kids.html How to inculcate fitness and healthy lifestyle in our kids https://hiteshipatel.blogspot.com/2020/10/how-to-inculcate-fitness-and-healthy.html Impact of Covid-19 on kids https://hiteshiblogger.blogspot.com/ Autism and Parenting stress https://hiteshipatel.blogspot.com/2020/12/autism-and-parenting-stress.html Birthday celebration ideas during Covid-19 https://hiteshipatel.blogspot.com/2020/12/birthday-celebration-ideas-during-covid.html
