During an interview with BBC, Rebel Wilson revealed that her weight loss journey was met with a lot of resistance, not from herself, but from her own colleagues.
She said her team queried why she wanted to lose weight, saying she would miss out on her spectacular role as the “funny fat girl” and the plenty of money it gave her.
Rebel Wilson however said that although she was very confident and not ashamed in any way because of her plus size, she decided to let go of the extra pounds of flesh for healthy living.
The 41-year-old Hollywood actress lost over 80-pounds of weight.
She also said she decided to lose weight in order to boost her fertility, but “whatever happens, happens”.
